Excitement is mounting as we prepare for the fast-approaching Boise-Eliot Music Festival!  Ed thinks it’s going to be “pretty good” and Lamont is giving it two thumbs up.  This week we burned the screen for the event t-shirt.

In other news we now have a facebook page!  Check us out and “like” us!

Last week we printed up and cut out tickets to be sold for our annual Boise Elliot Music Festival Fundraiser!  Everybody had fun helping out with all of the different steps of the process.  Tim said it was “kind of like an assembly line” and would like to do more work like this in the future.

Nicki urges everyone to “please buy them”!  She, along with Tim, Sunni, and Ed, helped to cut them out to just the right size.  Sunni really liked cutting them out and especially enjoyed their fun design.  Ed said “it was pretty good, making things for… whatever”.

These tickets are for the first evening of the two day festival, a night of jazz to be hosted by the Secret Society.  Tickets to the gala are $40 a piece or two for $70, quite the bargain for two excellent bands and access to our exciting silent auction featuring prizes ranging from two roundtrip airline tickets to items made right here at Port City!

Sunni hopes that we have a lot of fun doing the festival, and we hope that you have a lot of fun attending it!

Tickets may be purchased at our website http://www.portcitydevelopment.org/

Today we took a walk in the beautiful spring sunshine to collect some plants for a new image.  From the bounty of foliage we brought back we decided to use some bamboo leaves and cherry blossom branches— perfect for the season!

Ed helped burn these spring plants into a brand new screen.  Here’s a picture of him holding the new creation:

Beautiful cards… Only $5 for 5!

So far, Port City has printed napkins. aprons, stickers, greeting cards, t-shirts, and tote bags.  The designs have been a variety of our own, custom artwork.  Some of the most popular designs have been the flower and goat images, as well as Dennis Rogers’ award-winning “princess and castle”.   Two of our members have constructed hand-made table presses, constructed entirely out of repurposed materials.  We are looking forward to incorporating a 4-color press into our studio.

Thoughts on future efforts:

We would like to start designing and creating other clothing items, such as pants, sweatshirt, hats, coats, shorts, undergarments, socks.  We are also very interested in increasing our non-apparel line.  Some of the ideas floating around the studio include backpacks, fanny packs, lunch bags, more stickers and cards (for all occasions),

Bok bok bok bok!
